College Application Week 2021

Seniors from Chase, R-S Central, and East Rutherford high schools joined students from across the nation in celebrating College Application Week. The College Foundation of North Carolina (CFNC) holds this annual campaign to support college access during the month of October. Activities during the week support high school seniors in completing three important college enrollment steps: residency, FAFSA, and applications.

Every senior was given the opportunity to sit down with counselors and academic advisors to discuss the important steps to completing college applications. Many colleges in North Carolina waive their application fees during College Application Week so it is a pivotal time for students and parents to save money while completing the process.

“We look forward to College Application Week each year at ERHS. It is a rewarding time for our team to work with all seniors completing their Residency Determination Services and College Applications.” said Denise Humphries, Senior Counselor at East Rutherford High School. “There are a wide variety of educational opportunities for our students after graduation and we want to make sure they are aware of and set up for these opportunities.”

“Students’ future plans are being set during this Application Week process.” said Doug Hollars, an Academic Advisor for the McNair Educational Foundation at Chase High School. ”These students must 1st begin with a plan and then hold their course to reach success.”
