One of
the goals of the McNair Educational Foundation is for every high school student to have an
adult volunteer mentor. There
are currently over 100 adults who are volunteering their time to work with
students at East Rutherford and Chase High School.
McNair
mentors begin working with students at East Middle School in their 8th
grade year. Mentors meet with each
student and discuss the student’s college and career goals and begin to help
the student map out a plan for high school to help them reach those goals.
Heart of a Champion
A
group of McNair mentors are also working with students in the Heart of a
Champion program at East Middle School.
The mentors meet with these students to provide encouragement and
assistance to prepare these students for high school and college.
